Spring 2021 Fashion Trends

Net

Fashionable fishnet is all the rave on the runway this season, and I'm not talking fishnet stockings! The versatility of netted tunics, pants, rompers and even swimwear are limitless. This is by far one of the easiest transitional trends this year.

Simple Stripes

Whether horizontal or vertical, anything striped is WINNING. The bigger, the bolder, the better. I feel this look works best with loose and flowy pieces which brings comfort and class to any day or evening event this season.

The Hoodie

Now this is a tomboy twist equally nestled into a fierce fashion trend. Pair your favorite hoodie under a blazer, nice fitted skirt or a pair of skinny jeans. Of course this look is best done after the sun has set and the evening chill is upon us.

Over-sized Wide Trousers

One of my favorites, is this dramatic & elegant 80's era trend. The over-sized trouser is literally the perfect way to emerge from this pandemic. Because the silhouette of the pant is so wide, I pair with a basic tank or bodysuit and heeled sandals.

Cut-Out Fabrics

This particular trend is revealing yet glamorous when done right. If you dare to show off the beauty of your back or that area between your ribs and waist, you'll love this look. I find the best pieces are in full-length evening gowns or dresses.

Corset

Last season we witnessed this look as a layering piece. However, this spring, the corset becomes the star of the show. This low-key luxe item is great for body-sculpting and shaping your silhouette for both a day or evening look.

Huge Shoulders

I'm talking 1980 shoulder pads! Create a sharp silhouette in this seasons runway favorite. You definitely want to pin your hair up with this outfit, give those shoulders the spotlight! Create a conservative look with slacks and a signature brooch.

Dainty Dresses

A short dainty dress is an exquisite option for any Sunday brunch. This “1940 tea party” look adds softness to what I call “relaxed glamour”. Want to take it a step further, go for a pouf sleeve for a more dramatic and sleek fit.

Monochrome Madness

You can never go wrong with black & white monochrome color-blocking. This trend allows endless opportunity for a sophisticated, no-fuss fashion choice. We want solid colors, no patterns!

Bralette Beneath

This racy but romantic look is sure to be a showstopper worn alone or layered under a blazer. Sizing is key! Opt for bright patterns and colors as it represents a bold and head-turning look.

Criss-Cross Cords

Showcase that erogenous zone by adding pieces that have cords that can be crisscrossed or wrapped around your midriff. Almost always, these cords drape from a shirts bottom or skirts top. However wrapped, it becomes the focal point to any look.

Floor Length Maxis

Yes, long maxi dresses have arrived and it's time to embrace this trend...again! This season is all about sheer material and layered ruffles. Partner with a large bag, comfortable flats and layered jewelry.

As we pray that the world slowly gets back to normal, I cannot wait to flaunt these items! And on February 27, my online boutique, Cupcakes & Caviar will offer EVERY one of these spring pieces to purchase.
